Blackbaud has set the date for the end of database view support in Raiser’s Edge NXT. If your integrations, imports and data flows are the part of the move you are least sure about, that is the part we have spent more than twenty years on.
In June, Blackbaud confirmed the timeline for the move to a single web view experience in Raiser’s Edge NXT. Database view support ends on 15 September 2027 for organisations in the UK, Europe and North America, with Australia and New Zealand following later in the year. Blackbaud has published a transition guide and a feature map, and is running a monthly InsideTrack to Web View series from September to December to help teams plan.

For most fundraising teams, the screens will be the visible change. For the people who look after the database, the question underneath is a different one: what happens to everything that moves data in and out?
SmartTHING has been focused on Raiser’s Edge NXT for as long as there has been a Raiser’s Edge NXT, and on Blackbaud products for more than twenty years before that. Our team took organisations through The Raiser’s Edge 7, through the arrival of Raiser’s Edge NXT, and through the retirement of Online Express. This is not our first transition, and it is not the first time our clients have asked us “what does this mean for our integrations?”
The short answer is: less than you might fear. Our connectors connect to Raiser’s Edge NXT through the SKY API, the same route they have always used, so the end of database view does not change how data arrives in your records. If Mailchimp, JustGiving or your payment platform feeds Raiser’s Edge NXT through a SmartTHING connector today, it will do exactly the same thing in September 2027.

More than 80 managed connectors for the systems your supporters use: Mailchimp, Dotdigital, JustGiving, Enthuse, Fundraise Up, Stripe, Eventbrite, iSAMS and many more. Each one is configured to your Raiser’s Edge NXT environment by our team, and we keep it running.
For the data you produce yourselves, from event exports to finance reconciliations, SmartIMPORT gives your team a repeatable import routine you build, own and run. Files can arrive as spreadsheets or land on SFTP, SharePoint or Google Drive. Your configurations stay yours.
SmartNXTTOOLS, our free browser extension suite, adds small, practical helpers to the Raiser’s Edge NXT web view: SmartPASTE, SmartMERGE, SmartNOTES and SmartTABS. Free, installed in a minute, and a good way to make web view feel like home sooner.

A year sounds like a long time. It is also one full fundraising cycle, with a Christmas appeal, a year end and a summer of events in it, and every one of those moments leans on data getting where it needs to go. The organisations that come out of a transition like this well are the ones that sorted out the plumbing early and then got on with fundraising.
That is the offer, really. You focus on the move to web view and on your supporters. We look after the integrations, the imports and the data flows that sit underneath, the way we have for organisations like yours for more than twenty years.
Nothing changes for you. Your connectors and import routines work in web view today and will work in web view after September 2027. If you would like a written confirmation for your own planning, ask your account contact and we will send one.
If your team still works in database view and you are not sure how much of what you do there will carry over, book a transition review.
A free 30 minute call on Google Meet with one of our Raiser’s Edge NXT specialists. We talk through how your team uses database view today: the imports, queries, global changes, batches, mailings, reports and plug-ins you rely on. For each one we tell you whether it exists in web view under another name, needs a workaround, or is something one of our tools can take on. There is no obligation, and nothing to prepare beyond a rough idea of what you use.
