Your team already knows how to find the right supporters in Raiser’s Edge NXT. With an optional add-on for our Dotdigital integration, the constituent query you build to find them can now become a List in Dotdigital, ready for your next campaign. There is nothing to export and nothing to upload: name the query, save it, and SmartSYNC builds the List for you.
Your query, your List
Queries are where a lot of careful segmentation work happens: event attendees from the last two years, lapsed regular givers, alumni from a particular year group, supporters interested in a specific cause. Dotdigital Lists are what your campaigns are sent to. The add-on joins the two, so the audience your team defines in Raiser’s Edge NXT is the audience that receives the email.
Three steps
Give your constituent query a name that starts with SEGMENT: followed by the name you want the List to have in Dotdigital. A query called SEGMENT: Interested in London events creates a List called Interested in London events.
On the Output tab, add Constituent ID as the first output field. That is all SmartSYNC needs to match each record in the query to its contact in Dotdigital.
Save the query. Within around ten minutes SmartSYNC picks it up and starts adding contacts to the List, and you receive a confirmation email showing how many records the query returned and how many are being added.
Dynamic and static queries both work. If your team prefers constituent lists, the same SEGMENT: naming works there too.
