Free tool for Raiser's Edge NXT
See a supporter's LinkedIn profile alongside their constituent record in Raiser's Edge NXT. Free to use, installs from the Chrome Web Store, and works for your whole team.
At a glance
How it works
SmartSOCIAL is a browser extension for Google Chrome. Once it is installed and licensed, it works quietly in the background of Raiser's Edge NXT web view.
1
Open any individual constituent in Raiser's Edge NXT. The SmartSOCIAL panel slides out from the side of the page, ready to use.
2
If the record already holds a LinkedIn address under Online presence, that profile opens straight away. If not, SmartSOCIAL searches LinkedIn on the constituent's name and you pick the right person.
3
Save the profile address to the record and it is there for everyone. The next time any colleague opens that constituent, the same profile is waiting for them.
What you can do
Check a supporter's current employer, role and location against what your database holds, and update the record while it is in front of you.
Connect, send a message or look at shared connections in LinkedIn while the constituent record is still open.
One saved link serves the whole office. Everyone can use SmartSOCIAL at the same time, and the more people use it, the more complete your records become.
SmartSOCIAL shows you the live LinkedIn page. It does not copy, store or send profile data anywhere, and the extension collects no data about you or your constituents.
You use your own LinkedIn login, so anything your plan lets you do on LinkedIn, you can do in the panel.
There is no charge and no time limit. Each user needs a free licence, which takes a minute to request, and our UK-based team is on hand if anything needs a nudge.
Good to know
Individual records only
SmartSOCIAL appears on individual constituent records in Raiser's Edge NXT web view. It does not show on organisation records.
Google Chrome and a LinkedIn login
You need Google Chrome, and to be logged into LinkedIn in the same browser. Third-party cookies need to be allowed for LinkedIn to load inside the panel.
A small companion set-up step
LinkedIn does not normally allow itself to be shown inside another page, so a companion browser rule is applied during set-up. Our step-by-step guide walks you through it.
One licence per user
Each colleague enters their own licence username and key the first time they use SmartSOCIAL. Licences are free and can be requested for as many users as you need.
Get started
Four short steps and you are up and running. Start by requesting a licence, then install the extension while you wait.
It takes about a minute. Tell us your name, organisation and platform, and your licence username and key will be emailed to you along with the set-up instructions.
